*Workshop 1: The Thrill of Double Veil* $40 pre-registration - $45 at the door

Challenge your veil skills by doubling up! There is nothing like double veils for giving you the flash and pizzazz you need to quickly grab attention in a large venue. In this workshop we will learn several ways to drape, remove, match and manipulate two veils. Please wear clothing that allows you to tuck the veil in securely at the hips and shoulders. Bring two (2) semi circular SILK veils to class if you have them. Aneena unique hand dyed silk veils will be available for purchase at the class. 45" x 108" 8mm weight semi-circular veils are usually priced at $40 – 60 each.  (There will be veils available to borrow for the workshop so don't worry about not having one!)

For beginning to advanced dancers!

*Workshop 2: Classic Assaya* $40 pre-registration - $45 at the door

Explore the beautiful, earthy, style of raks assaya and Saidi dance in a fun and lively workshop! Today cane is often incorporated into folkloric, oriental, and, even, fusion style performances. Learning to spin and hold cane is one part of the picture. Understanding elements of Saidi style (and what makes it look different from "oriental" dance) makes a big difference in performance too! This workshop will cover cane technique and address combinations, stylization, and the Saidi "feel" that you can incorporate into your own dance style and your own performances—folkloric or contemporary! Mina is known for her authentic feeling and new look on Raks Assaya. She has studied Raks Assaya and Saidi styling with Egyptian dance experts in the U.S. and from Egypt.

For beginning to advanced dancers!

Important notes: Bring a cane if you have one. The instructor will have a limited number of canes and sticks available for students to borrow.

*Want to attend Both Workshops?*
