salaam, good travelers. May Allah bless you this night. Please stay for a while and let me tell you a tale. A tale of mystery, wonder, and excitement. A tale as old as the sands of the Sahara...
Shahryar, the King of Persia, after hearing of his wife's infidelity, orders her executed and declares that all women are unfaithful. He then marries another virgin every day only to execute them come morning. Alas, when there were no more virigns left, the daughter of the Vizier offers herself as the next bride. That evening, the intelligent Scheherazade, with the help of her sister, Dinarzade, begins to tell Shahryar a tale but does not finish it before morning...
"Oh sister," said Dinarzade, "what a wonderful story is this!"
"The remainder of it," said Sheherazade, "is more surprising; and you will be of my mind if the Sultan will let me live this day, and permit me to continue the story tonight,"
Shahriar, who had listened to Sheherazade with pleasure, said to himself "I will let her stay till tomorrow, for I can at any time put her to death, when she has made an end of her story."
Each evening began with the continuation of the tale and each morning ended thusly.
After 1001 tales in 1001 nights, Shahryar would pardon his wife and spares her life.
These are her tales..."
